Frequently Asked Questions

What  is an electronic cigarette?
An electronic cigarette is a battery-powered vaporizer which simulates tobacco smoking by heating a liquid and producing an aerosol that resembles smoke. It generally uses a heating element known as atomizer, which vaporizes a liquid solution known as e-liquid or e-juice.

Does vaping feel similar to smoking?
Yes. E-cigarettes produce vapour mist that you inhale and exhale like what you would with a regular tobacco cigarette.

What's in e-liquid or e-juice?
E-liquid or e-juice is the fluid that is used in e-cigarette cartridges or tanks to vaporize and produce aerosol. E-liquids contain a mixture of propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, and flavourings, as well as nicotine if one wants.

Is it safe?
E-cigarettes deliver nicotine by inhaling a vaporized nicotine solution without the thousands of toxic chemicals that tobacco smoke contains.  While many users feel that it is safer than smoking, we can not make health claims.

Can I use my e-cigarette anywhere?
Vaping is technically acceptable in most public places as there is no secondhand smoke. However, we suggest to check with the staff of those enclosed public areas first (bars, restaurants, retail stores) and respect the policy they have.

How much would it cost me to "switch"?
To generalize, you can get started for +/- $100.  Depending on your personal preference in hardware and e juice, it's reasonable to say that the daily cost to vape instead of smoke is anywhere from $1 to $5 per day.
